Just a fantastic guy

Since today is Sunday, I have decided to spotlight an awesome person that I know.  I am actually related to him and he is someone that I just admire in many ways.  His name is Brian Wilson and he is my brother-in-law.

Some of you may not know that my husband Brad is a twin. Charlotte was going to be a twin too but the second sac went away very early in the pregnancy so it was not meant to be.  When I met Brad on match.com, I accidently called him Brian one time.  He responded “Don’t worry, I am actually a twin and my twin brother is named Brian.”

The reason I want to spotlight Brian is because he is the type of person that I truly admire and look up to.  I am sure you have heard the saying “When life gives you lemons…”  Brian was given a little bit of lemons early on in life but I have never heard him complain one time about the lemons.  I have been with Brad for almost seven years and for those entire seven years, my brother-in-law focuses on the positive.  He understands that there is no point in focusing on the negative.  Nothing good will come from this and he is very thankful for all of the wonderful things in his life.

It was funny because Brad teases me how close Corrin and I are.  He and his brother Brian are close but they decided early on that they were not going to go to the same college.  Brian ended up graduating from TCU and is a die hard fan.  He is a fanatic.  One of his greatest life memories was traveling to the Rose Bowl to see TCU win.  I think he has watched the game a million times. Ok, maybe not a million.  Maybe 999,999 times.  Every time he watches it, it’s as if he doesn’t know the ending.  Brian is also an avid griller with his Weber grill being one of his most prized possessions.

Brian is married to the most beautiful girl (inside and out…a Baylor Bear so she and Brad hit it off right away) and they have the most adorable four year old son, Andrew. Bethany and Brian could not be more perfect for each other and I love how loyal they are.  They have each other’s backs and enjoy the things in life that matter the most, God, family, and fun.  They have decided that Bethanybeing able to stay at home and be there with her son full time is the most important thing and have made several sacrifices for this.  Brian works for a local government body in the Dallas area where he helps with the communication.  It is interesting to hear about all the new things he has to do in order to keep up with the social media and other new technological advances as it pertains to communication.

My mother-in-law did not know she was pregnant with twins when she gave birth.  My husband came out and then the doctor realized that there was a second baby.  There were some complications with the delivery that left my brother-in-law with a mild case of cerebral palsy.  His right hand was affected and there are some limitations.

That is all I am going to say about his lemons because if you meet Brian, you will quickly understand that he is not defined at all by this.  He does not want you to feel sorry for him because he is so good.  Brian may feel sorry for you, though, and your issues.  That is the kind of guy he is.
