Our freezer meal club decided to host a Progressive Dinner Party.
It is a party that takes place at several houses, with each house hosting a different course.
We decided on four houses: Appitizers, Soup and Salad, Main Course, and Dessert
We paired up into teams so that each house had “help.”
We decided that each house could decided if they wanted a theme or not.
First House: Tracy’s House: Appitizers:
Tracy and Lindsey did a wonderful job with appitizers. They had tons of amazing appitizers. Some examples include: Baked bri, bacon wrapped crackers, corn and frito dip, chocolate and strawberries). The table was beautiful and the food tasted amazing.
The second house: Christa’s house: Soup and Salad
Christa (really Brad) made our family friend (Joann and Richard’s) Pumkin Poblano Soup (hence the orange theme) and Jen made and Orange, Walnut Gorgonzola and Mixed Greens Salad with Fresh Citrus Vinaigrette.
Each guest took home a Christmas ornament with their name on it and “Gourmet Freezer Club Progressive Dinner 2014” in the shape of an orange.
Third House: Corrin’s
Theme: Frozen/winter wonderland (we are the freezer club)
Hosts: Corrin, Anna, Jessica
Food: Chili Bar
4th house: Amy’s house: dessert
Theme: Fun Candy Decor
Amy and Kim (who is about to have a baby any day now) put together a fantastic desert spread. They wanted to do mini desert bites. They had a chocolate fountain with lots of things to dip (fruit, cake, wafers). Other mini bites included lemon squares, Samoa bars, and cheesecake bites. The deserts were all amazing tasting. The men enjoyed cigars on the patio at the end of the evening.
