Ok, are you looking for an easy, fancy, yummy appetizer to bring to a holiday party? Or are you like me and just LOVE sushi?
If you fall into either category, this is the easiest recipe!
Mind you, the fresh tuna at my local Kroger is $15.99 a pound. I asked for half a pound and feel like I got a lot of fresh tuna relative to picking up a box of ready made spicy tuna rolls.
TUNA TARTARE- this is the easy recipe I used and it came from ABC’s the Chew.
1 pound Sushi-quality Tuna (cut into a small dice)
1 Avocado (diced)
1/8 cup Canola Oil
1/2 teaspoon peeled and finely grated Ginger (I used the spice ginger)
1 teaspoon finely chopped Jalapeno
1 teaspoon Wasabi Powder
1 Scallion (green and white parts and finely diced) I only used half
Black Sesame Seeds
Salt and Pepper to taste
18 square Wonton Wrappers
Vegetable Oil or melted Butter
Sea Salt or Sesame Seeds
All you have to do is preheat oven at 350 degrees, and cut the wontons in half. Spread them on a cookie sheet, use butter spray, and then sprinkle with salt and sesame seeds. Cook for about 6 minutes or until crispy.
For the tuna tar tar- combine ingredients. I added LA Tabasco Sauce at the end to give it a kick!
**** never touch jalapeño seeds directly! You will immediately regret it!
