Houston Children’s Museum

Spring Break is coming up and many parents will be looking for ways to entertain their children.  I HIGHLY recommend taking your kids to the country’s number one children museum (according to Parent magazine). The Houston Children’s Museum is worth the drive!
I feel that many Houstonians (myself included) take for granted that we have this wonderful, creative, educational venue that appeals to children of all ages.
If you live outside of Houston, I will go as far as saying that it is worth a 5 hour drive and a cheap 4 star Hotwire hotel in Downtown Houston.
If you haven’t visited the museum in a while, you will be shocked at the number of new exhibits.

Here are the many reasons I love the Houston Children’s Museum:
– It is packed with 90,000 square feet of activities inside and outside for kids of all ages.

– The upstairs has a huge Tot Spot

– There are many arts and crafts available.

– Children can experience and learn about banking, news reporting, the economy, meteorology, health care, veterinarian medicine, and more.

– There are 14 hands-on exhibits designed for kids.

– The museum is located near other cool museums and places (Houston Zoo, Houston Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Fine Arts, Health Museum).

– Thursday from 5-8 pm are free family nights.

– They have changing themes and events (jugglers, pirates, pi day).

– You can have a birthday party at the museum.

– Families receiving public assistance are given free passes.
Tuesday- Saturday:  10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday:  12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Thursday:  10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Members receive an early bird entrance of 9:00 AM the second Saturday of each month.

Adults/Children (1 Year +) $9.00
Seniors (65 +) $8.00
Military Discount $8.00

If you plan on visiting more than three times in one year, it is worth it to buy a membership!

I am glad that I finally got a chance to check out this place. Great views, food is nice. The quality of service at NYC events was great, and the environment were pretty comfortable. I’ll say I will look forward to visit again.
