The Deal Breaker
Corrin and I have been in an exercise/weight loss challenge with a group of girls since the first week in January. It ends in March for Spring Break. We have three more weeks left.
How are we doing?
We are doing pretty well. I will give a report of my (and Corrin’s progress) in three more weeks.
What are we doing well?
Working out- We have worked out almost every day since January 1st.
What are we not doing well?
We could definitely do better on our food/drink choices, especially on the weekends. We have lost weight (Corrin a lot) but could have done better.
What do we finally get?
The most important thing is the food/drink intake. You can exercise a million hours a day but if you don’t watch (at least on the weekdays) your food and drink intake, you are not going to get the results you think you deserve to have as quickly as you want to see them.
What is the Deal Breaker?
Recording your food and drinks….and the easiest way to do it is through
My Fitness Pal App
What is it?
It is an app where you can type in your weight, height, and age. You tell the app what weight you would like to get down to and it will tell you how many calories you should have a day to reach this point. If you exercise, you can earn more calories to still reach this goal.
Is this similar to Weight Watchers?
Yes, and Weight Watchers has worked for thousands of people.
As the day goes on, you input your food, drinks, and exercises into the app. You will see how many calories you have left throughout the day.
Why is this a Deal Breaker for us?
Because this forces you to be better about your food choices. I have always heard that what you eat is way more important than your exercise. I finally get it. If you incorporate both, you are almost guaranteed to get where you want. You make better choices when you are inputting them into your app and see the calories. Also, it forces you to have meal portion control.
Am I going to use it on the weekends?
I think I will be more conscience on the weekends but for me, Fridays and Saturdays will be for enjoyment (not going crazy though). If I want to go to Whataburger and have a hamburger, I will.
Download the My fitness pal app and give it a try for a couple of days. See if it forces you to make better food choices. I believe that the food choices are the key to getting the weight off but the exercise is the key to keeping it off and being healthier for the long run. You must do both to get maximum results.
My cousin Amy is an inspiration. She has created a group where she motivates people to eat healthier and exercise more. She has worked her behind off and you can see the results!!! I am very proud of her hard work!!!!
My question for you is this: Who is going to try this for a few days to see some results?
