I Am Obsessed With This Storage Solution

storage-1I love my craft room.  When we built our house it was an unfinished space that eventually we finished into a craft room.

My kids love my craft room.

My mom spent an entire weekend working to make my craft room a great crafting space.  I LOVE my space.

Over time, though, I have added things to my craft room (Sillouette machine, heat press, etc) and my craft room has gone from being neat and tidy to a tornado.

How?

I blame fifty percent on me and fifty percent on my children.  The glitter in my carpet will never come up.  Thank goodness I bought carpet tiles that can easily be replaced!

Solution

One of my good friends, Reagan, is a professional organizer.  She took one look at my craft room and could not believe that I could get anything accomplished in there.

She offered to help me “get it back to working order and make it EVEN better.”

She first interviewed me to find out all of the things I do in my craft room.  She then devised a plan and helped me implement it.

The storage device I love MOST from my transformation is my wrapping paper station.

Where can you find it?

I bought the station at the Container Store.  It is VERY easy to install and comes with several different configurations.  You can put it on the back of a door if you don’t have extra space.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.  I bought a few drawers to put my tissue paper in and a big hook to hang my bags.

Here is a preview of what my craft room looked like before Reagan’s help.  Stay tuned for the transformation!  You will be surprised!!!

My question for you is this:  What room do you wish you could get organized?

The game room for sure. I’m considering a strategy I read on a blog recently which is to get rid of almost all toys and limit to maybe 10 per kid. I do have a closet for arts and crafts and games that stays fairly organized. Fortunately my middle son got his father’s OCD gene and is good about putting those supplies back on shelf where they go.
