3 Things I Am Currently Obsessed With

There are three things that I think are great are:

  1. The game: Left, Right, Center

I first came across this game at a friend’s 40th birthday party.  It is SUPER fun and easy.  There is almost no thinking involved!

I was really excited when Brad’s uncle pulled it out to play over Christmas break.  Our freezer meal group had a pajama party get together and played this game.  The girls LOVED it!  It is best to have at least six or more players.

(Side note:  This game can be played with adults and kids.  Corrin recently bought candy (instead of money) and her kids had a blast playing it with the candy!)

How to play:

You must buy the game, Left, Right, Center.  It will have three dice:  That have the following (L: (for left) R: (for right): and a dot (for center).

Getting ready:

Each person must have three one dollar bills to play.  You must sit in a circle.

Each person takes turns rolling the dice three dice.  If you roll a R, you must hand a dollar to the person on your right.  If you roll a L, you must hand a dollar to the person on your left.  If you roll a dot, you must put a dollar in the center pot.

Three R’s would result in the person on your right getting 3 dollar bills.  Three L’s ….same…all 3 dollars going to person on the left.  If you roll three dots all three dollars go to the pot.

What happens if you run out of money?

You are not out because the person on your left or right may still give you money and put you back in the game.  You can’t roll unless you have money.  If you only have two dollars, you may only roll two dice.  If you only have one dollar, you can only roll one dice.

Who wins?

As you go around the circle, people will be placing dollars in the center as they roll a dot.  The last person in the game gets all of the money in the center.

Where can I buy the game?

You can buy it on Amazon or at stores such as Walgreens or CVS.

2. Showtime’s Homeland

Brad and I are always looking for good shows to watch together.  We were offered free Showtime when we renewed our internet contract.  Brad was excited because he had been wanting to get Showtime for years to watch a series called Homeland but wasn’t going to spend the money.

Why it is so good:

The premise of the show is about an American prisoner of war who comes back after eight years of being held.  A CIA agent played by Claire Danes was informed that there was an American priosoneer of war that had been turned and was loyal to the enemy.  Claire Dane’s character was not worried until months later when an American prisoner of war was found.  Is the prisoner of war good or bad?  If you love shows like 24 and Broadchurch, you will love Homeland.

The show is REALLY good and addictive.  If you don’t have Showtime, you can buy the seasons on Amazon.  The show is currently on its six season.

3. Oolong Tea with a Splash of Low Calorie Cranberry Juice

Do you like the fruit passion ice tea that Starbucks sells?  I do because it is very refreshing on a hot day.

My mom is always telling me that I need to drink green tea.  It has lots of great health benefits.

The problem, though, is that I am not a huge fan of green tea.  I will drink it cold but it is not my favorite thing to drink.

My mom told me about a tea called Oolong tea.  She told me that Dr. Oz highly recommends it.  It is suppose to be like green tea but even better in the health benefits.

If you google “oolong tea,” you can read about all of the great health benefits.  (reduction of heart disease, high cholesterol levels, promoting bone structure, etc) A bonus benefit is that a study showed that people who drank it for six weeks lost more weight than those who did not drink it.

Before my mom left Houston a few weeks ago, she showed up at my house with my yeti full of a special drink and told me to drink it.  It actually tasted GREAT. It reminded me of the Starbucks passion tea but tasted even better. The great thing about it is that it has almost no calories, is refreshing, and has great health benefits.

How to make it:

Boil an entire tea kettle.

Take eight packs of oolong tea and dip them in the tea kettle water.

To drink:

Take a Yeti (or similar) and fill it with ice.  Pour the oolong tea into 3/4 of the yeti.  Add 1/4 of low calorie cranberry juice and enjoy!

Not only are you drinking a refreshing drink but you are drinking something that is good for your health!  I can drink all day long on this drink.

My questions for you include:

How many of these three things are you familiar with? What are you currently obsessed with?
