This is one of my favorite recipes!!!! I have recently made it for friends and family and everyone agrees is it very addicting!
**** You have to buy Sushi grade tuna (I buy mine at Kroger). It can be pricy, but half a pound goes a long way.
EASY Tuna Tartare
1 pound Sushi-quality Tuna (cut into small pieces)
1 Avocado (diced)
1/8 cup Olive Oil
1/2 teaspoon peeled and finely grated Ginger (I often use the ginger from my spice rack)
1 teaspoon finely chopped Jalapeno (or serrano pepper)
1 teaspoon Wasabi Powder
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 Scallion (green and white parts and finely diced)
Black Sesame Seeds (optional)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Combine all of the ingredients. When you are chopping your peppers, make sure you do not touch the seeds (your hands will burn for hours if you do). I don’t include the seeds, but if you want more heat, then you can include them. I usually just keep adding hot sauce until it has enough heat.
Serve by itself, with crackers, or over baked wontons. To make it look fancy, just use a round cookie cutter or other round object to shape the tartare.
